Art, Architecture, Icon
Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur M. Blank commissioned Rigsby Hull to create this private, limited-edition monograph about the building Architectural Digest calls “the most beautifully designed stadium on the planet”. The 472-page volume—a visual exploration of the stadium’s art, architecture, and the vision behind them—is housed in a personalized, sculpted plexiglass slipcase. Augmented reality throughout the book takes readers into the minds of the people who created one of the most important new buildings of our time. (Note: this book is not available for purchase.)
This monumental monograph, weighing nearly twenty pounds, is a carefully crafted tribute to an icon of 21st architecture.
Sculpted slipcases mirror the Stadium’s oculus roof and each is etched with its recipient’s name. Fore-edge printing and gilded edging, 10th century bookbinding techniques, feel both classic and contemporary.
Exacting color reproductions of the artworks were created collaboratively with the Stadium’s fifty-four individual artists and Savannah College of Art & Design, the collection’s curators.
A side-sewn sketchbook reveals sixty pages of evolving artistic and architectural ideas leading to the Stadium’s finished design.
Interactive content throughout the book takes readers on behind-the-scenes tours of the Stadium’s art and architecture and into the minds of the creators.
