Correspondence in D Minor
A Poetry Collection
Correspondence in D Minor represents Texas novelist James R. Dennis’ debut as a poet. The poems take the form of fictional letters to/from literary, historical and Biblical figures. Texas Poet Laureate Rosemary Catacalos compliments the collection’s “fine, leavening humor and compelling engagement with the mystery of being alive.” The design blog, Under Consideration, notes approvingly that Rigsby Hull’s hand-signed, limited edition letterpress book “takes a crafter’s pride in the technical minutia that separate it from others like it.” The illuminated capitals are a subtle reference to those in James Joyce’s Ulysses; the barbed-wire cross is a tattoo stencil drawn by ppunker for Deviant.
